The Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics
You may not copy or use proprietary software unless you have paid for it.
Some businesses are tempted to acquire a single copy of a program and distribute it to multiple computers. "Pirates" are pursued aggressively by organizations like the Business Software Alliance, which face severe fines and negative publicity if found. Pirates of software are rarely apprehended. Using a shareware program for an extended period of time without registering it is the same as stealing it. (Goldsborough, 2004)
One of the best examples of the 6th commandment is Netflix. Netflix is a platform where you can watch movies, series, documentaries, animes, cartoons, etc. Which gives you a great range of options. However, great things usually come with a price, that is why Netflix also has subscriptions. People generally like the features of Netflix. However, the price you need to pay for a subscription that you might use only once a week or once a month does not sound very appealing. That is when people search for pirate sites that do the same without asking a price.
When it happens it is against the 6th commandment of computer ethics.
